Betty Kay Taylor went to be with the Lord on July 25, 2022 at 10:12 PM. She was born in Covington, VA was raised on Potts Creek. She worked at Goodwill Industries in Vinton, VA and she had a great big heart and loved everyone she came in contact with. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Hazel and Chelsea Bogar; a son, William Austin “Andy”; grandson, Devan Ray Austin; and brother, Garland Bogar from Richmond, VA She us survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Danny Ray Taylor, Rocky Mount; son, Ray Austin and wife Amy Austin; daughter, Melinda Kay Austin Winans (Lynn); stepdaughters, Melissa Taylor and Tammy Taylor; grandchildren, Brittney and Jeremy Leffel, Danielle and David Ayers, Summer Austin and Rene Perez, Denver Ray Austin III, Andrew William Austin and Cammie Holdern; great-grandchildren, Kasey Ayers, Marcus, Cheyane and Darrien; She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Garkand Bogar, Marvin Bogar, Linda Bowles, Barbara Dawson, David and Kathy Bogar; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend, James Winans; and a very special pet that she loved and spoiled named Tebo. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to the Angel of Assisi for her love of animals. It was Betty’s wish to be cremated by Conner-Bowman Funeral Home and Crematory, 62 VA Market Place Drive, Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
