Brenda Martin Huffman

Brenda Martin Huffman age 70 of Wirtz passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023 in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Brenda was a kindhearted and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, and was affectionately known as Nannie, a title she loved more than anything. She retired with over 30 years of dedicated and faithful service from ITT Night Vision, and she was a member of the “Sew Sisters” quilters as quilting was one of her true passions along with her beautiful flower gardens. She took much pride in her gardening skills. But above all, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren were her greatest accomplishments as they were her prized possessions. She is gone too soon but her memory and love for her family will live on forever. You will be missed and always loved!

She was born on December 21, 1952 a daughter of the late Rewis Lonnie and Barbara Jean Ashby Martin. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband on February 9, 2022, David Leonard Huffman; sister, Debbie Haymaker.

She us survived by her loving daughters, Lori Whitlow (Glen) and Lottie Portelli (Martin); her grandchildren, Kelsey Dillon-Jamison (Craig), Taylor Dillon (Trey), Tanner Dillon (Taylor), Bryce Whitlow (Graycie), Christopher Portelli and Jodie Portelli; her great-grandchildren, Callie Jamison, Zoey Portelli and Aaron Portelli, River Poulin, and Sutton Dillon. She is also survived by her brother, Steve Martin (Leigh), and her brother-in-law, Maynard Haymaker, other family members and numerous friends.

A Celebration of her life will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Poland officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m.
