Clara M. Frame

Clara Mae Frame age 86 of Rocky Mount passed away at her home on Monday, December 16, 2019. She fought an eleven year battle with cancer and finally won. She was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church which she loved with all her heart. Church and family came first, but she also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, traveling, music and being with her friends. Her faith was very evident to everyone she came in contact with. Her smile and sense of humor was contagious. She will be greatly missed by many who loved her dearly. She was born August 19, 1933 a daughter of the late Homer Austin and Daisy Larrabee; her husbands, Cecil Frame, Frank Wood, and Maynard Arrington; brothers, James Daniel Austin, George Austin (Art), and Clinton E. Austin (Kent). She is survived by eight children, sons; George M. “Chipper” Arrington (Betty), James “Jimmy” L. Arrington (Judy), Tony R. Arrington (Fran), Waddy P. Arrington (Barbara), Lonnie S. Arrington (Beverly), Robin D. Arrington (Lynore), Herbert F. Dillon (Donna), daughter; Gwendolyn A. Amos (Bill); five stepdaughters, Betty Jane Coleman, Debbie Imbargo, Jo Ann Glass, Fran Arrington, Carol Holdaway; step-son, Frank (Chip) Wood, Jr., 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; brothers, William N. Austin (Shirley), Jerry Larrabee; sister-in-law, Rowena Cooper; numerous nieces, nephews and friends, including three special friends, Dutch Amos, Margaret Motley and Dorothy Harter. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons, Edward Arrington, Jason Weston, Jarrett Amos, Steven Arrington, Herbert Dillon, Jr., Daniel Amos, Christopher Carl and Nathan “Bubba” Lumsden. The family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to Heartland Hospice, especially her nurse, Julia Wheeler, her aides, Monica Williamson and Taylor Conley. Also Hospice Clergy, Melton Johnson. Their help and friendship throughout our journey with mama was invaluable. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, December 20, 2019 at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home with Pastors Todd Barnes, Mike Price and Deacon Eric Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday, December 19th at the funeral home.
