Claude Robert "Bobby" Mills

Claude Robert "Bobby" Mills, age 85 of Callaway, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2025. 

Bobby was born July 6, 1939 the youngest son of his late parents Noah and Hattie Green Mills and was also preceded in death by brothers Albert, Eddie and Frank; his sisters Pearl Clark, Lorene Jennings, Velva Walker, Virginia, Carrie and Peachie Mills; half brother Ezra.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Nancy Chitwood Mills; his son David and wife Wanda Mills; daughter Becky Moran and husband Danny; grandchildren Steve Mills, Robin Fonville (Eric), Leslie Mays (Brian); ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; sister Sibbie Byrd. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.

Bobby was a retired mechanic who loved children, especially “his boys” Tyler, Cole and Noah, hunting, fishing and antique cars. His gift of gab and sense of humor will be missed by many.

The family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to his nurse care team and staff of Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital for their kindness and compassionate care during his last week of life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider memorial contributions to Callaway Fire and Rescue.

Interment to be at Mills Family Cemetery in Callaway at a later date.
