Donald Lee Houck age 83 of Moneta passed away on Monday, March 4, 2019. Don was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from the IRS as Director of Taxpayer Services with 37 years of service. After retirement he started D. L. Houck & Associates as a Tax Consultant.
Don was a Mason with Portsmouth Lodge # 100 A.F. & A. M. and an outdoors person loving the beauty of the mountains and Smith Mountain Lake. He enjoyed laughing and playing ball with his great-grandchildren, taking his grandchildren on numerous sightseeing trips along with his wife and taking his children on camping trips. He loved life, his work, but most of all, his family. He will be missed by everyone and never forgotten.
Don was born in Elbert, West Virginia on August 28, 1935 a son of the late Matthew and Dora Williams Houck. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Virginia Houck; and three brothers, Robert, Harold and J.D. Houck.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Sandra Wilkinson Houck; children, Bradley Nathan Houck and wife, Lisa Sarver Houck, Kimberly Houck Barlow and husband James Paul Barlow; four grandchildren, Brittany Leigh Barlow, John Paul Barlow and fiancée Maria Gargano, Kelsie Houck Gardner and husband Andrew, Christopher Ryan Barlow; two great-grandchildren, Camdyn McKenzie Barlow and Ivan Roland Barlow; his sister, Edith Faye Warren and her daughter, Cindy O'Connell and husband Dan; loving nieces, LaVern Houck Flora (Richard), Dora Kelsey and Cheryl Fair Cloth (James).

A celebration of his life will be will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Trinity Ecumenical Parish with Rev. Philip Bouknight officiating. Inurnment will follow with military honors in the church Columbarium.
