Evelyn Laverne Love Wray

Evelyn Laverne Love Wray crossed the river Jordan into Heaven on February 7, 2026, peacefully, at Brookdale Memory Care/Assisted Living . She was preceded in death by parents, Horace D. and Gladys Sigmon Love, sister, Eleanor Grey Bailey, and husband of 18 years Brady Lee Wray.

Surviving are a Sister, Esther Paige Bailey, Daughters, Sherry (Ricky) Foutz, Linda (Jeff) Booth, Granddaughter, Hayley (Wayne) Simmons, Great Grand Children, Audrey Ann and Waylon Roy Simmons. Also preceded and survived by numerous loved members of the extended Bailey, Wray Love and Sigmon families.

Evelyn’s many jobs through the years spanned the business sector and included 30+ years in the medical field; she was very proud of becoming a registered nurse and retiring from Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was deeply rooted in her faith, loved God and animals. As she told many people she met, I’m headed to Heaven, meet me there.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to Samantha Smith for her years of friendship and to Good Samaritan Hospice for everything they have done.

In Lieu of Flowers suggested Roanoke charities: Shenandoah Baptist Church-Camp Eagle, Angels of Assisi Animal Shelter or to Roanoke Valley SPCA.

Memorial services will be held 12:00 noon Friday, February 20, 2026, at Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel with Pastor Warren King officiating. Her family will be receiving friends beginning 11:00 am until service time on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home.
