Frances Heck Jamison Robertson

Frances Heck Jamison Robertson, age 89 of Boones Mill died Tuesday, March 16, 2010. She was a 1943 graduate of the Jefferson School of Nursing, served as a Public Health Nurse in Franklin County until her retirement in 1983, member of Piedmont Presbyterian Church since 1944. Mrs. Robertson was born October 16, 1920 in Lee County, Virginia, a daughter of the late Charles and Cordie Mae Johnston Heck, a Coalminers Daughter. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Cecil Olando Jamison, Sr. and Roland G. Robertson. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Cecil (C.O.) II and Margaret Jamison, Hardy; daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Tom Freeman, Poquoson, Virginia, Carolyn and Joe Newbill; grandchildren, Matt and Jennifer Newbill, Bill and Valerie Freeman, Jon and Phyllis Newbill, Michael and Paula Freeman, Ben and Paula Newbill, Aaron and Tori Freeman; Ten great-grandchildren; brother, Quincy Heck; sisters Helen Webster and Lucille Hatcher. Funeral services will be conducted from Piedmont Presbyterian Church 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010 with Rev. David Codington and Mr. Jack Milliron officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Piedmont Presbyterian Church8585 Callaway Road, Callaway, Virginia 24067 or Gideons International P.O. Box 915 Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
