Freida Houston Chitwood

Freida Houston Chitwood peacefully joined her true love on Sunday, May 30th. She was given the nickname of “Mother Hen” because of the selfless care she gave to the ones she loved. Freida was proceeded in death by her parents Gordon and Georgia Houston; her loving husband, Bill whom she adored and deeply missed; brother-in-law, Donald Yopp. Those left behind to cherish her memories are her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Chris Jones; her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Pamela Chitwood; three special granddaughters, who were her world, Sarah and Kathryn Jones and Olivia Chitwood; brother, Danny Houston and special friend, Sherry Smith; sister, Krista Yopp and many close cousins. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Lynch Conner Bowman Funeral Home with Dr. Jackie Spence officiating. Interment will follow services at Franklin Memorial Park. Family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home before the service starts and other times at Freida’s home. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in her memory to the Franklin County Humane Society where she adopted her sweet cat “Sarah Kitty”.
