James Tracy Wade

James Tracy Wade age 57 of Rocky Mount passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024, after a brief battle of cancer. Tracy was born on September 7, 1966, a son of the late Claude James “Buddy” Wade, Jr. and Jacqueline Young Wade. He will be remembered as a hard worker and having a great passion for the outdoors, especially during the hunting season. He loved people and helped them anyway that he could. He made his mama and sister very proud just of being himself. Tracy was employed with ProAmpac. He will be greatly missed by all that ever knew him.

Tracy is survived by his mother, Jacqueline Young Wade; his sister, Anita Bowman (Joe); his nieces, Ariel Bowman, and Davina Bowman; His beloved companion, Teresa Smithers and her son, Brian Henderson (Julie McKaughan). He is also survived by other family members, close friends including his hunting buddies and work family at ProAmpac.

The family wishes to express a special thanks and gratitude to ProAmpac for their willingness to help with all aspects of questions and details throughout Tracy’s illness, and a special thanks to Carilion Hospice of Franklin County for their unending love and support.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to one of the following in his name: 1) Carilion Hospice of Franklin County; 2) American Diabetes Association; 3) American Cancer Society.

A celebration of Tracy’s life will be announced at a later date. His wishes were to be cremated.
