Janet Simmons

Janet Simmons, age 87 of Roanoke, went to be with her Lord, Wednesday, February 29, 2024. Janet was born January 14, 1937 to the late Harry and Nancy Simmons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings Claude Simmons, Mildred Booth, Joe Simmons, Mary Wray, Melva Beard and Frances Greer. Janet enjoyed listening to her gospel music but her biggest joy in life was her family.

Surviving is her brother Dalton Simmons; nieces and nephews Glenda Booth, Sandra Foley, Joyce Young, Billy Booth, Donna Wermuth, Ed Greer, Ricky Beard, Linda Simmons, Nancy Craighead, Claudia Jackson and Peggy Overstreet; many great nieces, great nephews and extended family.

Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to Lynn Haven Baptist Church, 1501 E. Washington Ave, Vinton, VA 24179.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday from Lynn Haven Baptist Church with Pastor Bryan Crouch officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Janet's family will be receiving friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the Church.
