Duff Eckstein went to be with Jesus his Lord and Savior on May 8, 2025. Born in Johnstown, PA he moved to Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia in 1996 with Sharri, his high school sweetheart and wife of 60 years.
Duff and Sharri operated a log home business and the House of Noah furniture store in Johnstown and Ligonier, PA before the Lord called them to move and open a pastor’s retreat at the lake; Restoration Rivers ministered to pastors and others for over 25 years. He was very much at peace on the water and loved showing real estate via boat to many of his clients. When work was over, Duff loved to sit on the dock with his family and feed his pet Duck, Aflac cashews. When it was time for a road trip, Duff and Sharri usually headed for their favorite destination, Top Sail Island, NC. A box of Cheez-Its was always within reach.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Sharri of Boones Mill, VA, his three children, Craig (Sharon Gabriel) of Huddleston, VA, Heidi of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Heath of Boones Mill, VA, along with 2 beloved grandchildren, Maximus and Kora. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Laverne Eckstein, brother Wally (Nancy) and Dick Trotz, husband of his sister, Nancy Trotz. He is survived by brother Greg of Johnstown, PA, sister Arlene of Vero Beach, FL, and Nancy Trotz of Pittsburgh, PA, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A small private service will be held at the their home in Boones Mill with immediate family, and a celebration of life open house will be held at a later date.
