Jeffrey Dean Mitchell

Jeffrey Dean Mitchell, age 52 of Glade Hill, passed away Friday, January 7, 2011. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Mitchell. Jeff is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sandra Sandy Perdue Mitchell; daughter Diana Mitchell Hall and her husband Blake; their children Taylor Paige Hall and William Blake Buddy Hall, III; also Jeff and Sandras son Jeffrey Dale Mitchell. Jeff also leaves to mourn, his mother Betty Mullins Mitchell of Thaxton; a brother Alan Mitchell of Charlottesville and Lee Mitchell of Lynchburg; two nieces and two nephews. His extended family includes his mother-in-law Bessie Perdue of Wirtz; Sandras sisters, brothers, their spouses and numerous nieces and nephews. Jeff graduated from Liberty High School in Bedford, Class of 1976 where he was an outstanding trumpet player and was chosen for the All-American Bi Centennial Band of 1976. He was a route salesman for Utz Snack Foods. His interests included NASCAR (Tony Stewart), wrestling, and his family. Funeral services will be conducted from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 3 p.m. Monday, January 10, 2011 with Rev. Wayne Powell officiating. Special music will be provided by Betty Whittaker.
