Joe Rektenwald

Joseph Frank Rektenwald Sr., of Wirtz, Virginia, formerly of Langhorne, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025. He was 87 years old. He was born on November 7, 1938, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He proudly served as an airplane mechanic in the United States Air Force. He later worked for L3 as an electrical engineer. Joseph shared 67 devoted years of marriage with his beloved wife, Sarah (Halfhill) Rektenwald. Together they built a family that includes their son, Joseph Rektenwald Jr.; daughters Sally Deitrick and her husband Jeff, and Anne Marie Everett; grandson Tyler Deitrick and his wife Sarah; and great-granddaughter Mia Deitrick. He is also remembered by his sister Catherine Yost and many nieces, nephews and cousins. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
