John Dombkowski

John F. Dombkowski, age 53 of Wirtz and formerly Middletown NJ, passed away Thursday August 25, 2022 with his family by his side after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 17, 1969 in Jersey City, NJ to the late Francis Michael Dombkowski.

John was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed spending time with Uncle Tom on weekends as they rooted for their favorite teams. He also enjoyed spending his time playing BINGO, Roseys Game Emporium and lottery. While he enjoyed many passions in life, his true love was his family.

Surviving is his mother, Margaret Dombkowski; sisters, Jennifer Dombkowski and Rachel White; nephews, Christopher LaPrade and Nephew/caregiver Andrew LaPrade; nieces Ellyisia Ferreira and niece/Goddaughter Madelynne Ferguson; great-nieces, Alice Moon and Ember Star; Uncle, Tom; close cousin, Margaret Conklin Santeramo and many other cousins.

The family would especially like to thank the staff at Lewis Gale Medical Center surgical ICU and Amedisys Hospice with special acknowledgement to Sarah Drake, Terri Kipley, and Jason Donohoe for their diligence to help get him home where he wanted to spend his last days with his family. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions in John's name to:

Funeral mass was held Saturday August 27, 2022 at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.  Arrangements by Lynch Conner-Bowman funeral home 140 Floyd Ave, Rocky Mount, VA.
