Judy Beane Rice

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Judy Elaine Rice, born March 18, 1947, in Lenoir, North Carolina, who departed this life on May 6, 2026. Judy is survived by her husband of 59 years, James Rice Sr.; her son, James Rice Jr., and daughter-in-law, Ruth Rice; her grandson, Cody Rice, and his wife, Ashlee Rice; her granddaughter, Hannah Rice; her precious great-grandchildren, Ali and Evan Rice; her loving sister, Linda Prevette; and brother, Robert Beane, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory forever.

Judy had a special love for flowers and birds, especially hummingbirds, whose beauty and gentle spirit she admired. She enjoyed working puzzles, spending quiet moments at home, and most of all treasured every opportunity to be surrounded by her family. Her warmth, kindness, and loving nature touched everyone who knew her.

Judy will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her caring heart, and the graceful strength she carried throughout her life. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Some of her last words were telling us not to cry, that Jesus was waiting for her and that he had prepared a place for her.
