Larry Wayne Jones

Larry Wayne Jones, age 77, of Boones Mill, VA passed away on Good Friday, April 3, 2026, leaving behind a life defined by faith, hard work, and a deep love for his family and the outdoors. Born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1948. Wayne grew up working on his family’s farm. This work shaped him into the dedicated, hard-working man he was. Whether building, fixing, or creating he approached every task with great care, integrity, and determination. An avid outdoorsman, Wayne found peace and joy in nature. He cherished time spent on his tractor, hunting and fishing, and being in the woods. He appreciated the simple beauty of the world surrounding him.  Those moments outdoors were not only his passion but also a reflection of his deep and abiding faith in his creator. 

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Willie “Guy” Jones and Josephine Holland Jones; his sisters, Elsie Lorene Jones, Martha Jewel Jones, Hazel Taylor, Joyce Zeigler, Barbara Gayle Jones; brothers, Charles Joseph Jones and Wilford Jones. 

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Linda Lou Jones;  his two sons and daughter in laws,  Danny Wayne Jones and Beth Jones, Brian Scott Jones and Renee Jones;  two brothers, James O Jones and Winston J “Pete” Jones; Grandchildren, Zachary Andrew Jones, Tyler Scott Jones, Hunter Cole Jones, Hannah Aubrey Sorrells (Cody), and Allison Haley Jones; Great-Grandchildren, Marlow, Madelyn, and Mckenna Sorrells; sister in laws, Carol Robertson (Kirk), Dorothy “Dot” Sloan (Aubrey), and Ann Bramlett (Bill); also many nieces and nephews.  

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Franklin Memorial Park with Pastor Deke Andrews officiating.
