Larry Zeigler

Larry Douglas Zeigler age 74 of Union Hall went to his Heavenly home on Friday, January 5, 2024. He died in his home on his family farm where he resided all of his life. He was born on September 6, 1949 a son of the late Luther Bernice and Janie Viola David Zeigler. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Kenny, Randy & Jimmy Zeigler; two sisters, Nina Mae Davis and Nancy Thurman; son-in-law, Chris Odum.

Larry was well known as a hard worker everywhere he was employed whether it was one of the local plants, truck driving, framing houses or working at a sawmill.

He met the love of his life, Carolyn Simmons, when he was a teenager working at M & W. This coming May they would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.

He enjoyed life on their farm where they raised cows, tobacco, gardens, four children, ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and he loved them all. Larry loved fishing, hunting, farming, and his family. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his family. He was irreplaceable and will be greatly missed.

Larry is survived by his loving and devoted wife of almost 55 years, Carolyn Simmons Zeigler; his children, Carey D. Zeigler (Donna), Lisa Zeigler, Libby Thurman (Nathan) and Connie Stump (Adam); 10 grandchildren, Stephanie Pendleton (Travis), Staci Hudson (Chris), Scott Odum, Bryce Odum, Will Thurman, Matthew Thurman, Adam Stump, Jr. (Andrea), Cassidy Stump, Brooklyn Stump, and Hannah Stump; eight great-grandchildren, Tristan, Teagan, Emily, Levi, Ryleigh, Masen, Makennze, and Memphis. He is also survived by his brothers and sister, Pete Zeigler (Judy), Barry Zeigler, and Judy Bowyer; other family members and numerous friends.

At Larry's request, there will not be any services or visitation.
