Lavona R. Hudson Perdue

Lavona R. Hudson Perdue, age 83 of Rocky Mount, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents Raleigh and Ida Dalton Ramsey; husbands T.J. Hudson, Jr. and Lester Paul Perdue; brothers Cecil and Ross Ramsey; sisters Mamie R. Carr, Doris R. English, Virginia A. Ramsey, Tillie R. Cooper, and Avis R. Jamison. She is survived by children Betty Hudson Brown (Richard), Daniel S. Hudson (Jean); stepchildren Gloria Perdue Ross and Lester P. Perdue, Jr. (Frances); grandchildren Courtney L. Brown, Carrie Brown Crockett (Jace) and great-granddaughter Elizabeth Cole Crockett; step-grandchildren Stacey Layton(Bruce), Leslie Stanley (Ta Warn), Gina Moore (Kent), Vicky Branch (Cecil), Karen Ganley (Chris); Christopher Ross (Kelly), Sheila Lynch (Brent); brother-in-law Joseph L. Sink; special caregivers Warren and Annjalete Devan. Flowers would be appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to Rocky Mount First Church of Brethren. Funeral services will be conducted from Rocky Mount First Church of the Brethren 11 a.m. Thursday, December 30, 2010 with Pastor John Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. Her family will be receiving friends Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, 140 Floyd Avenue, Rocky Mount, VA.
