Lewis Bowyer

Lewis Douglas Bowyer of Rocky Mount, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Monday June 28, 2010 at the age of 76 years after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doug and Mary Bowyer, and his brother Richard Bowyer, and Great Granddaughter Mason Elizabeth Rill. He is survived by his wife Jean Bowyer of Rocky Mount, VA; 3 children Gary Bowyer and wife Stephanie of Nokomis, FL, Lu Anne Bowyer Mason and husband Calvin of Ferrum, VA, and Danny Bowyer of Rocky Mount, VA; 7 Granddaughters Chrissy Mason Hodge and husband John of Vinton, VA, Michelle Mason Harris and husband Stephen of Roanoke, VA, Sally Bowyer Perdue and husband Brandon of Rocky Mount, VA, Susan Bowyer Jackson and husband Eric of Rocky Mount, VA, Sharon Mason Rill, and husband Devin of Parkville, MD, Jessica Leigh Mason, and Laura Marie Mason of Ferrum, VA; 7 Great Grandchildren; 1 Brother and 5 Sisters Mary (Normie) Bowyer Hodnett of Lynchburg, VA, Gordon Bowyer and wife Chloe Ann of Lynchburg, VA, Emma Bowyer Davis and husband Tommy of Lynchburg, VA, Rachel Bowyer Beeler and husband Wayne of Lynchburg, VA Judy Bowyer Mitchell of Rocky Mount, VA, Jean (Lizzy) Bowyer Foley of Lancaster, VA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, on Floyd Avenue in Rocky Mount, VA. Funeral services will be held at his home church, Nicopolis Methodist Church, 1574 Triggs Road, Bedford, VA 24523 on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 11am with Pastor Terry Covey officiating. Interment will follow at the Nicopolis Church Cemetery. The family wishes to express their gratitude to UVA, Lewis Gale Clinic and Hospital, Franklin Memorial Hospital and all of The Good Samaritan Hospice staff.
