Lorraine Austin

On Friday, April 3, 2026, Evelyn Lorraine Flinton-Austn was welcomed to her Heavenly home after battling extended illnesses. She was greeted with open arms by her late parents, Mabel Alice Young and Richard Leroy Flinton.

Left to cherish her memory are, her loving husband of 35 years, Randal Austin; son, Travis Flinton (Morgan); daughter, Candace Austin; grandchildren, Levi and Leah Flinton, Kashton Wright, whom she treasured the most in her life; and siblings, Rick Flinton, Tonia Main, and Patti Binnion.

Lorraine enjoyed her time with her beloved family, was an avid reader of Stephen King novels, and spent years bowling and served on the USBC Board of directors. She also spent time creating crafts and hobbies.

Special thanks to Lorraine’s best friend of 30 years, Peggy Newman (Terry) for being like a sister to her.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Poland officiating. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home and at her son Travis Flinton’s family home, 381 Indian Trail, Henry, VA 24102 immediately following the service on Thursday, April 9th, and a covered dish is encouraged and welcomed.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Rocky Mount Youth Bowling League, Rocky Mount Bowling Center, 1608 Chestnut Hill Road, Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
