Nancy Dudley Lamkin

Nancy Dudley Lamkin, age 75 of Ferrum, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, October 12, 2026. Nancy was born July 7, 1951 to the late Henry Lee Dudley and Mildred Cobbs Dudley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Eddie Lamkin; her sister Linda Dudley Pinkard and brother Richard Dudley.

A longtime and faithful member of Franklin Heights Church, she was a loving and caring woman whose life was marked by her faith, kindness, and love for others. She had a special place in her heart for children and dedicated many years to teaching preschool, nurturing young minds with patience and love. She was also a fantastic cook who brought family and friends together through her delicious meals and warm hospitality. She will be fondly remembered for her loving spirit, generous heart, and the many lives she touched throughout her life.

Surviving is her loving husband of 55 years James "Jim" Harvey Lamkin; son Christopher Lamkin (Paula); grandchildren Amber Mann (John), Tori Lamkin, Christopher "Cody" Lamkin, Scott Lamkin and Abby Lamkin; great-grandchildren Sophia, Marshall, Zayne and Jackson; special friends Faye Ferguson, Phyllis Holley, Joyce Turner, Sandy Roth and especially lifelong friend Pat Doughton.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday from Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel with Pastors Bobby Young and Caleb Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will be receiving friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, 62 Virginia Market Place Dr., Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
