Philip "Phil" Lyon Chidester

Philip Lyon "Phil" Chidester age 65 of Salem and formerly of Boones Mill passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at his home. Phil was born on May 3, 1956 a son of the late Rev. Augustus Benjamin Chidester, Jr. and Joan Bauer Chidester. He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Dorothy Simpson Chidester; and a sister, Susan Chidester Hill. He is survived by his sister, Julia Mary Chidester Caplick (Jake); brothers, Augustus Benjamin Chidester III (Janet), Thomas Bauer Chidester, James Bullock Chidester (Patricia). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and many friends. A celebration of Phil’s life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Wilson (Community Fellowship Church) officiating. Phil’s family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
