Robert "Bob" Parmelee, Sr.

Robert "Bob" Parmelee, Sr. passed away peacefully on January 3, 2024, at the Virginia Veterans Care Center. He was born on December 15, 1950, in Penn Yan, New York, a son of the late Barbara Millis Schofield and Robert E. Parmelee; his wives, Sharon Hawkins Parmelee and Linda Caldwell Parmelee. Bob was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Bob's life was filled with adventure and dedication. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for 20 years and retired as a veteran. During his military service, Bob bravely served in Desert Storm and was stationed in various locations around the world.

Outside of his military career, Bob was passionate about racing and enjoyed this hobby alongside his two sons. His famous words echoed through the race pits: "Is the car ready yet?" This shared interest created lasting memories and brought Bob closer to his family.

One of Bob's proudest accomplishments was being a loving father to his sons Bobby (Jenny) and Thomas (Amber). He cherished every moment spent with them and instilled in them values of integrity, perseverance, and love. The joy he felt as a father extended to his role as a grandfather to Brianna (Joey) and Kylie.

In addition to his immediate family, Bob is survived by his brothers Mike and Allen; and his long-time companion and friend, Janet Galbraith who provided him with unwavering companionship and support during challenging times.

Bob's memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends. His warm smile, kind heart, and genuine personality left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. As we gather to honor Bob's life, we invite all loved ones to join us for the visitation on January 13th from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM followed by his funeral service at 1:00 PM.
