Roger Dale Wertz

Roger Dale Wertz (Our "Diddy"), age 70, of Callaway, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025. Roger was born June 27, 1955 to the late Willie F and Doris Ann Housman Wertz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Ann Wertz; brothers Paul W. Wertz and John K. Wertz; sister Sandra Jo Wertz; and his fur buddy Toby "Little Man". Roger retired from Valcom after many years of service. He was a true outdoorsman. From hunting and fishing to camping, he loved every aspect of the outdoors.

Surviving are his daughters Christie Ann Wertz, Renee Wertz Kincer (Stacey); grandchildren Taylor B. Helms (Steven), Brooklyn M. Morris (Christian, Atlanta L. Kincer, Sydney R. Clements; great grandchildren Reagan Hudson, Oaklyn Hudson and great grandchild to be Miley; nieces and nephews David Mullins, John Wertz, Mandy Jo Wertz and April Williamson; his special buddies Levi and Brodie; and his fur-baby Miss Kitty.

Funeral services will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Home 11:00 am Friday with Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. His family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am Friday at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, 62 Virginia Market Place Dr., Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
