Thomas Edward Higgins

Thomas Edward Higgins, age 87, of Union Hall, VA passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on February 14, 1935  the son of the late Anne M. Simpkins and William R. Higgins.  He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Linda Higgins and his beloved sister, Maureen Vaganek, and two brothers.  Tom is survived by his two daughters, Debbie and Sandy and their spouses, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  Tom served in the US Air Force for 20 years including a tour in Vietnam.  He was the recipient of numerous awards including the Bronze Star. 

Services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Angels of Assisi in Roanoke, VA, your local Humane Society, giving treats to your neighborhood dogs like Tom did every day.
