Uriel Derrick Gunthorpe

Uriel Derrick Gunthorpe, Jr, 67, of Roanoke, VA (formerly of Englewood, NJ) passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born September 17, 1953 the son of the late Uriel Derrick Gunthorpe, Sr., DDS and Elaine Bratton Hamilton Gunthorpe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Hamilton Gunthorpe. Surviving is his son, Jay Jones-Gunthorpe (Stacey) of Roanoke, VA. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Jay, Jr., Alexie, Christian and Jacob; one great-grandson; loving god sister, Verna (Becky) Walker; godchildren, Ryan Walker, Joseph Brooking, Jr. and Sydney Freeman; special cousins, Warren (Crystal), Wayne and Kathy Morris; close friends, Joseph Brooking, Sr. (Sharon), Dr. Steve Freeman, and Rev. Dr. David Wright; many cousins and friends. Funeral services and interment will be private with Rev. Dr. David Wright officiating.
