Virginia Lee Robertson Austin, 75, of Rocky Mount went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 3rd, 2025. Virginia spent most of her adult life as a caregiver to her children, grand children, great grand children as well as many other children in the community throughout her life. Virginia enjoyed spending time with the Lord reading scripture. She attended Furnace Creek Baptist Church for many years before attending Open Door Community Church near her home in Rocky Mount Virginia. Virginia loved watering her many plants in her back yard as well as maintaining her yard as much as she could in her later years. She also enjoyed watching stock car races on TV along with her "stories" during the week on daytime. Virginia was a fierce protector of her loved ones and loved just as fiercely. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Jessie and Gracie Robertson, her very special Aunt Violet Virginia Blankenship Walker, brothers Earl, David, Jessie Wilson (JW) and Steve Robertson, sister Barbara, her sweet grand daughter Amber Hall, special friend Marsha Dent and Virginia's beloved husband Mike Austin.
Virginia is survived by her daughter Angee Caldwell (Paul), son Julian Austin & his half brother Mike, grandchildren Kaleb and Jacob Hall, Austin Dials, Nevada Atkins, Austin Smith, Hailey Loftis, Isabella and Christopher Austin , several great grandchildren along with special friends Jean and Brenda among others and extended family members. In true Virginia fashion, she did not want a memorial service or a viewing but would simply want those to be there for one another and lift each other up in prayer. She will be laid to rest at Franklin Memorial Park on Monday, July 7th 2025 in a private ceremony.
Arrangements were made by Conner-Bowman Funeral Home and Crematory, 62 VA Market Place Drive (Route 220 @ Wirtz Road), Rocky Mount.
