Virginia Harvey Ellis

Virginia “Jenny” Harvey Ellis, age 82, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. She was born a “Coal Miner’s Daughter” on December 27, 1939, to the late Alfred and Eunice Harvey. Jenny was the eldest of eight children born and raised in West Virginia. She developed a close walk with the Lord at an early age and eagerly shared her faith with others. She had a genuine love for life and a smile that would warm your heart. Jenny enjoyed singing in her church choir, taking care of children, the color pink, good southern cooking, gardening, and her family. Her husband Ralph was truly the love of her life, and they were blessed with 45 years of marriage together. For the last few years, Jenny often spoke of wanting to go home to see her mama and daddy. Today, we praise God that they are reunited in His presence. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Eunice, and her daughters-in-law, Patsy Price and Lorrie Ellis. Jenny is survived by her loving husband, Ralph Ellis; her sons Wayne Price and Darryl Ellis, daughter Annette Brown (Dale); grandchildren, Rachael Crandall (Josiah), Sarah Ellis, Jessica Sanicola (Nick), and Cody Price (Ama); great-grandchildren, Gianna Sanicola, Sophia Sanicola, and Oceana Price; siblings, Paul Harvey (Brenda), Dianne Miller, Emma Jean Brown, Wendell Harvey, Buddy Harvey (Barbara), Barry Harvey (Sandra), Daisy Plaster (Mike), and many nieces, nephews, and friends whom she loved. A funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 19th at Halesford Baptist Church. The family will begin receiving friends one hour before the service. In place of flowers, please consider donating to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital - both charities which were close to Jenny’s heart.
