James Benjamin Moorman, Jr., "JB"

Mr. James Benjamin Moorman, Jr., "JB" age 87 of Rocky Mount passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Rocky Mount Health and Rehab. James was born in Franklin County, Virginia on March 9, 1933 the son of the late James Moorman and Mary Hagwood Moorman. JB worked most of his adult life as a farmer, and loved the life of a farm-hand and fisherman. He often entertained others by playing his harmonica and telling tales of the past. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by sisters, Lucy Keys, Martha Rumley and Eliza Trotter; brothers, Earl Moorman, Kelman Moorman and George Moorman. JB is survived by his devoted sister, Maxine Brown, Richmond, VA; Henry Moorman (Renee), Richmond, James and Orlando Moorman, Rocky Mount; daughter, Patricia C. Moorman; grandchildren, Bryan Moorman, Melinda Bethea (Adrian); great-grandchildren, Bryan Moorman, Jr., Bianca Moorman, Premiere Bethea, Jadaiya Bethea and Aunjel Bethea all of Charlotte, NC; He leaves to cherish his memories a host of nieces, nephew and cousins who will miss him dearly.
