Lois Mae "Nanny" Paschal

November 9, 1939 - January 5, 2022

Lois Mae ‘Nanny’ Paschal, 82, of Vinton, peacefully left for her heavenly home on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. Lois was born on November 9, 1939, in Rocky Mount, VA, daughter of the late Bennie Steven and Flossie Mae Hall. She is also preceded in death by three brothers, Walter Benjamin Hall, Alvin Douglas Hall, Richard Wayne ‘Dickie’ Hall and two sisters Brenda Hall Nichols and Thelma Christine ‘Chris’ Heller. Lois was a school bus driver for Franklin County Public Schools and Roanoke City Public Schools for over 40 years. During her time at Roanoke City Public Schools, she received recognition for 21 years’ service with no accidents. She loved her school children as her own. Lois enjoyed shopping (especially finding bargains), traveling with family and friends but her greatest joy, were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children; Timothy (Patricia) Wray, Mark (Cindy) Wray, Lisa L. Ball and bonus daughter Reta Neal. Nine grandchildren; Steven (Michelle) Wray, Kayla (Daniel) Amos, Amanda (David) Wright, Benjamin (Ilvana) Wray, Alisha (Paul) Witt, Laura (Cameron) Kibler, William Neal, Brittany Neal and Kristina Wray; and sixteen great grandchildren: Madison, Makaylah, Haylie, Ethan, Colton, Hayden, Evelyn ‘Evee’, Declan, Benson, Emerson, Asher, Sophia, Hudson, Logan, Evelyn Day and Colton Allen; Two sisters Peggy H. Brubaker and Nancy H. Lewis along with numerous nieces and nephews. Last but certainly not least, her canine companion, Jake. A service celebrating Lois’ life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Lotz Funeral Home Vinton Chapel with Pastor Barry Fitzgerald officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorials be made to Children’s Miracle Network (https://carilionfoundation.org/cmn) in Lois’ memory or by purchasing wind chimes which she loved.
